Open Studio & Equipment Rental
Open Studio spaces and Equipment Rental opportunities are available for experienced artists, crafters, educators, entrepreneurs and others who wish to use our equipment and facilities independently. Especially popular at the Studio are the Pottery Kiln and dedicated work space and specialized tools and materials for Glass Art such as Stained Glass and Mosaics.
Open Studio users may choose to bring their own tools, equipment, and materials into the space; alternatively, some users may appreciate selecting from the variety of specialty Art materials (such as glass, foil, and solder) and purchasing them from the Studio on an ad hoc basis.
We invite potential Open Studio users to visit Monroe Street Studio and speak personally with a staff member and receive a tour of our facility.
Especially for Glass Art
The Glass Art Studio is available for independent use by approved individuals during the following days and times – and must be scheduled in advance:
- Mondays 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
- Tuesdays 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
- Wednesdays 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
- Thursdays 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
- Saturdays 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
- There is no Open Studio time on Fridays.
Please note that the Studio may be closed due to inclement weather; if classes are canceled, Open Studio time is likewise canceled. Please be sure to check the home page of our website to see if there are any notices of closure. Our schedule is subject to change during school breaks and holidays.
Due to safety and space considerations, a maximum of four individuals may use the Glass Art Studio at the same time. Time slots are reserved in advance in person or through contacting email@example.com.
The fee of $10/person/hour (for independent Artists) or $8 per person per hour (for Studio students) includes use of equipment (such as grinders), tools (such as cutters), safety gear (such as glasses), and patina. Stained Glass, pre-cut glass pieces, solder, flux, and accessories can be purchased on-site.
Studio Owner and Art Teacher Yana Farmer will be on the premises during Open Studio times and is usually teaching classes to students between the hours of 10:00 am – 12:00 noon on weekdays and between 10:00 am – 4:00 pm on Saturdays. She will have limited availability to answer quick questions, most likely between 12:00 noon and 1:00 pm. If you find yourself in need of hands-on help with your project, please consider scheduling a private lesson.
Glass Art Studio users may store their current project in a specially designated area to prevent the need for transporting work in progress.
Effective September, 2017, all Open Studio users will be asked to read and sign an Open Studio Agreement. All new and returning Open Studio users under the age of 18 will require a parent or other legal guardian to accompany them to Monroe Street Studio to sign the Glass Art Open Studio Agreement along with their child prior to their use of the Open Studio space.
All users of the Glass Art Open Space must be personally approved by Art Teacher/Studio Owner Yana Farmer.
