Did you know that once clay is fired, it becomes bisque? Some artists prefer the natural coloration and rough texture of the hardened ceramic, but others take it to the next level by Finishing with Glazing and Firing.
Students of Monroe Street Studio who have had their Art piece(s) fired once in our in-house kiln are eligible to participate in a Beyond the Bisque Workshop. You will explore the wonderful world of artistic application of colorful glazes to enhance and accentuate your Art work.
Workshops last for one and one-half hours and require registration to secure your space. Parents working with their children on a single Bisque piece (such as those made in Slab & Coil Workshops) need only sign up for one spot.
Glazed pieces will remain at the Studio for drying and a second firing. You’ll be notified when your piece is ready to be picked up and enjoyed.
